Taekwondo
Monsour, who graduated in De La Salle University in 1988 was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in Taekwondo. In 1982, while still in high school, he was recruited into the Philippine National Taekwondo Team. From 1982 to 1989 he earned the title of eight-time National Lightweight Champion and was ranked first in the country’s lightweight division. From 1985 to 1989 he was the team captain of the national Taekwondo team. It was durring his time that he won a silver medal in the 10th Asian Games in Korea, making him the first Filipino to earn such a distinction. In the 1988 Seoul Olympics, he was team captain of the National Taekwondo team of the Philippines where he broke local records and garnered him prominence as one of the first two Jin Olympians of the Philippines.
