Carlos “Jun” Iñigo was the captain of the UPHS varsity team in 1946 and 1946 before transferring to La Salle. He was a member of the La Salle senior basketball team from 1947 to 1951 teams. Jun was elected team captain of La Salle’s senior basketball team in 1951. The Green Archers won the 1947 NCAA and the 1948 Philippine National Basketball Open Championships. Jun was in the NCAA Mythical selection from 1947 to 1951 in both basketball and track and field events. He won a silver in the triple jump in 1947, a bronze in the 1947-48 and 1949 long jump and a gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 1949. Jun also competed in tennis, the 200 meter sprints and 400 low hurdle events making him an all-around athlete. He also played for the SMB Coca-Cola basketball team. Jun was inducted into the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
