The youngest son of distinguished parents, General Vicente Lim and social worker Pilar Hidalgo, is the Reverend PATRICIO LIM (HS '49, BSC '53) Father Pat was known for his humanitarian views at the University of the Philippines and De La Salle College, where he served as chaplain for several years. After his ordination as a priest on March 17, 1960, he became the chaplain of the Young Christian Workers before moving to the state university. For three years, starting in 1967, he was the parish priest of the small town of Baras, Rizal province. When the idea of a priests' senate for the diocese was finally realized, he was elected chairman of the priests' senate under the late Rufino Cardinal Santos. Subsequently, he was appointed for several years as spiritual director of the minor seminary of the Archdiocese of Manila at Guadalupe and was named a domestic prelate. At present Msgr. Patricio Lim is parish priest of the Santa Maria della Strada Church in Quezon City, a church he built from scratch with the help of the residents of La Vista subdivision. For the past five years, he has been a counselor of the marriage encounter apostolate, and treasurer of Radio Veritas, a powerful radio station that is sponsored and financially backed by the Catholic authorities of Manila.
