To the early post-war generation of alumni, Adi is well remembered as the captain of the senior basketball team and center forward of the NCAA football team champions. He was a member of the team that represented the Philippines in the Asian Games in 1948 and 1952. He made the first team mythical selection in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball. He went to the University of San Francisco where he became captaion of the USF Pacific Soccer champions. He was also captain of the Varsity Soccer Team. After college, Adi served at the Hanna Boys’ Center in California, a center for neglected and underprivileged boys where he planned and supervised their athletic program of the boys in the center. In his honor, his son Edu Manzano put up the Adrian Manzano Cancer Wing of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City. Adi was inducted into the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
