Franz Santos Pumaren graduated from DLSU in 1986 with a degree in (BSC). He was an inductee into the 2008 DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in basketball. He was a member of the DLSU UAAP Senior Varsity Basketball Team from 1980 to 1986 and he was a member of the Philippine National Basketball Team in 1981 which won a medal in the SEA Games held in Manila. After 12 years Franz became Head coach of the DLSU Green Archers, leading them to five championships: a 4-peat from 1999 to 2001 and again in 2007.
