Joseph "Jong" Uichico studied elementary and high school in LSGH and finished college in De La Salle College in 1983 and was inducted in the DLS-AA Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. He was part of the Green Archers and in the mid-1990's he became the coach of the Green Archers and guided them to two runner-up trophies. He was the first rookie coach to lead his team, San Miguel, to back-to-back titles in the same year. In 2000, Uichico once again guided San Miguel to two more titles and earned himself the title of Coach of The Year. He became the head coach of the RP team's 2002 Asian Games Campaign. leading them to a fourth-place finish in the event. He was also able to win a championship in the 2006 to 2007 PBA Philippine Cup as the coach of Ginebra and his second championship with the Gin Kings in the 2008 PBA Fiesta Conference and his 8th overall title.
