Iñaki Vicente was an active football player during his collegiate years in the 1970’s. He was a member of the junior and senior championship teams of La Salle Green Hills and De La Salle University, respectively. In 1971, he played as part of the Philippine National Senior Team, which landed in the top five in the pre-Olympic eliminations in Seoul, South Korea. He competed as part of the national team in the pre-Olympic competitions in Tokyo, Japan in 1973. He also participated in the Asian Youth Football Tournaments and in the 1975 Asian Games.
