Br. Hugh Damian Wester taught in De La Salle college from 1946 to 1950. He was interred in UST and then Los Banos during the Japanese Occupation. After the war, he returned to the Unites States to teach at De La Salle HS in Chicago. He returned to the Philippines and taught in DLSC from 1946 – 1950. He was elected NCAA President in 1949, the first Lasallian to serve in that capacity after World War II. He was re-elected in 1950. Br. Hugh was the Dean of the School of Engineering of De La Salle College from 1954 – 1962. He became the second Director and Principal of De La Salle Lipa in 1963 after Br. Henry Virgil FSC passed away. He then moved to La Salle Greenhills where he was the principal form 1964 to 1968. His final assignment took him to La Salle Bacolod where he served as a chemistry teacher from 1968-1978.
