Club List

Club Activities and News
What are the DLSAA requirements for organization?

Minimum members. A minimum of ten (10) active alumni may form a club.

Organization. Unlike chapters, clubs do not necessarily have to be legally incorporated. If a club wants to register with the Securities and Exchange Commission, it may do so at its own expense. It may, however, utilize the legal services of DLSAA's counsel.

Funding. All club members must contribute an initial minimum of P500.00 for club operations. The collection of membership fees and dues are prerogatives of club members but these are not considered payments of the DLSAA annual fee.

Officers. The 10 founding members must elect a President, Vice-President, Secretary-Communications Officer, and Treasurer. Other officers may be elected or appointed at the pleasure of the club members.

Club rules and regulations. In the absence of by-laws, a club must specify its objectives, create an organizational structure, define its officers' duties and responsibilities, and yearly formulate a business plan or program of activities. Copies of club rules and regulations must be submitted to the DLSAA. All clubs must submit an annual report to the DLSAA.

Elections. Club officers hold office for two years and all clubs must provide for officer elections every two years during the month of May.

Calendar year. All clubs must have a common calendar year from 01 June to 31 May.

Name. Generally, clubs shall have a uniform name format which shall be a two or three word description of the special interest/activity, e.g. DLSU Chorale followed by the words 'Alumni' and 'Club'. Examples are 'DLSU Chorale Alumni Club,' 'Lasallian Editors Alumni Club,' 'DLSU Varsity Tennis Alumni Club,' 'DLSU Golf Alumni Club,' etc.

Manual on clubs. All clubs must fill out an application form and formally affiliate with the DLSAA. The affiliation is formalized with an agreement called 'Manual on DLSAA Clubs.'
