Minimum members. A minimum of ten
(10) active alumni may form a club. Organization. Unlike chapters, clubs
do not necessarily have to be legally incorporated. If a club wants to
register with the Securities and Exchange Commission, it may do so at
its own expense. It may, however, utilize the legal services of DLSAA's
counsel. Funding. All
club members must contribute an initial minimum of P500.00 for club
operations. The collection of membership fees and dues are prerogatives
of club members but these are not considered payments of the DLSAA
annual fee. Officers. The
10 founding members must elect a President, Vice-President,
Secretary-Communications Officer, and Treasurer. Other officers may be
elected or appointed at the pleasure of the club members. Club rules and regulations. In the
absence of by-laws, a club must specify its objectives, create an
organizational structure, define its officers' duties and
responsibilities, and yearly formulate a business plan or program of
activities. Copies of club rules and regulations must be submitted to
the DLSAA. All clubs must submit an annual report to the DLSAA.
Elections. Club officers hold
office for two years and all clubs must provide for officer elections
every two years during the month of May. Calendar year. All clubs must have a
common calendar year from 01 June to 31 May. Name. Generally, clubs shall have a
uniform name format which shall be a two or three word description of
the special interest/activity, e.g. DLSU Chorale followed by the words
'Alumni' and 'Club'. Examples are 'DLSU Chorale Alumni Club,' 'Lasallian
Editors Alumni Club,' 'DLSU Varsity Tennis Alumni Club,' 'DLSU Golf
Alumni Club,' etc. Manual
on clubs. All clubs must fill out an application form and
formally affiliate with the DLSAA. The affiliation is formalized with an
agreement called 'Manual on DLSAA Clubs.' back |
