One La Salle SoCal Brings Joy Through “Tulungan is the New Normal 4”

The One La Salle Alumni of Southern California (DLSAA Southern California Chapter) once again gathered the Lasallian community in an afternoon of generosity and hope as they held “Tulungan is the New Normal 4” last Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Henry Sy Sr. Hall grounds.

First launched in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Tulungan is the New Normal has become an annual tradition of giving, rooted in the Lasallian mission of service and compassion. Now in its fourth consecutive year, the program continues to extend happiness and support to children in need. While its first three editions focused on DLSU’s partner communities, this year’s event honored a new group of beneficiaries: the children of DLSU’s external service personnel, celebrating their vital contributions to campus life.

Representing One La Salle SoCal were:

  • Aljay Pintor, President
  • Alger Brion
  • Dr. Johnny Olaco

Their presence reflected not just representation, but genuine pagbabalik-handog. Coming home to DLSU for this annual tradition, they carried with them the same spirit echoed in the Lasallian community worldwide, that service does not fade with distance. Even outside the country, our SoCal alumni continue to return with open hands and open hearts, strengthening the bridge between communities abroad and the families who keep our campus thriving every day.

They were also joined by longtime supporters Jun Singson and George Cheng, whose presence underscored the strong bond among Lasallian alumni across generations. The afternoon’s guest of honor, businesswoman and philanthropist Ms. Liberty Ong, added a bright spark to the celebration through her generous donation, bringing smiles and festive cheer to the attending children.

The program opened with heartfelt remarks from DLSAA President Atty. Christine Base, who reaffirmed the importance of unity, kindness, and continuing the Lasallian tradition of service.

The event was made even more special by a performance from De La Salle Innersoul, whose music uplifted the crowd and added warmth to the celebration.

To close the program, DLSAA Executive Director Dr. Joaquin Moreno delivered the final message, thanking the organizers, alumni, and benefactors whose shared commitment made the fourth edition of Tulungan truly meaningful.

With every gift shared and every smile sparked, “Tulungan is the New Normal 4” stands as a reminder that the Lasallian spirit of service lives on, wherever in the world Lasallians may be.
