A Year of Growth
By: Prof. Randolph I. Nonato
As President of the De La Salle Alumni Association, I've had the privilege of witnessing a transformative year for our organization.
June 2023 marked a new beginning with the induction of our Executive Committee and special meeting of our Board of Trustees. Our team, united by a shared passion for our alma mater, was eager to embark on a journey of growth and service.
One of our early milestones was the successful elections of the DLSAA College of Business Chapter, College of Science Chapter, College of Liberal Arts Chapter, and Grade School/High School Chapter, completing our organizational structure and setting the stage for exciting initiatives.
In the same month, I represented the DLSAA at the Gold and Green Royal Gala of the DLSAA Southern California Chapter. The gala raised funds for the "Tulungan is the New Normal" charity, with generous support from attendees led by Rotary International District 3830 Governor Mildred Vitangcol. This event was a testament to the commitment of our Lasallian community and the power of philanthropy.
Fast forward to June 2024, and we achieved a historic milestone with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between DLSU and DLSAA. This agreement grants lifetime membership to ALL graduates of De La Salle University starting on the 200th Commencement Exercise this coming October, solidifying our commitment to fostering lifelong connections and supporting the University's mission.
Additionally, the "Brew with Bro." event provided a unique opportunity for our alumni to connect with the De La Salle Brothers in an informal setting. These gatherings have been invaluable in strengthening our bonds and preserving the Lasallian spirit.
Our commitment to giving back to our community extends beyond our organization. As we move forward, we’ll continue to strive to make a positive impact on society and uphold the Lasallian values of compassion, service, and excellence.
Animo La Salle!
