Consing is one of Asia’s most respected figures
in the banking sector. As of 2013, he has served
as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank
of the Philippine Islands (BPI). He is also a Senior
Managing Director of Ayala Corporation, which is
BPI’s controlling shareholder.
For over a decade and a half, Consing has been
on the Board of Directors for BPI, as well as
representative for J.P. Morgan & Co (which was
then BPI’s second largest shareholder). He also
works with National Reinsurance Corporation as
Chairman, and President and board director of
Bancnet, Inc.
Aside from BPI, Consing has been an independent
board director for Jollibee Foods Corporation,
CIMB Group Holdings of Malaysia and First Gen
Corporation. Consing previously taught economics
and acted as a teaching assistant at De La Salle
University. At present, he is part of the advisory
committee of De La Salle University’s School of
Economics.
