Francis was a member of the Philippine team that competed in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and Putra Cup in the 19780s. He played on the team that won the Philippine Amateurs Match Play in 1978 and was awarded the Top Individual Player in the PAL Interclub Tournament in the 1990s. He coached the Philippine Team that won the championships in the SEA Games and the Putra Cup from 1990 to 1992. He also coached the Philippine team that won the silver medal in the Asian Games from 1990-1992. He was the playing coach of the Philippine team that competed in the Eisenhower Cup Golf Tournament in 1991. He was the champion in the Hongkong Amateur Championships in 1992 and the Philippine Senior Amateur Championship in 2004. In 2014, he drained the short put that capped Team Luisita’s two-point victory over rival Canlubang in the 28th Philippine Airlines Seniors Interclub Golf Team Championship.
