Stephen C. Hontiveros was enshrined in the Bowling Hall of Fame & Museum in St. Louis, Missouri in the United States. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the FIQ (International Bowling Federation)-European Zone in 1988 and the FIQ Silver Pin of Merit Award in 1995 for his dedicated service to the sport which he helped make popular in the Philippines. Steve is considered as one of the pillars of Philippine Sports. He is the Secretary General of the Philippine Olympic Committee. He occupies various positions in different sports organizations such as Project: Gintong Alay, International Bowling Federation (FIQ), Philippine Bowling Congress and Philippine Handball Federation. Steve has been part of the Philippine delegations sent to important international competitions including the prestigious Olympic Games, Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games. He was Chief of Mission of the Philippine delegation the Singapore SEA Games in 1993, the Greece Olympic Games in 2004 and the Kazakhstan Winter Games in 2011. He is also known for his effective organizational talent having been President of the San Juan Bowling Association, the Pasig Bowling Association, the Philippine Bowling Congress for nine years and the FIQ International Bowling Federation and member of the Olympic Council of Asia Coordinating Committee for the 2nd Indoor Games. Steve openly and proudly admits that his inclusion into the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame in 2003 as his biggest life achievement to this day.
