With a coaching career spanning three decades, Smit's colleagues, former players and fans can personally attest to his unbridled passion for the game. Countless teams have been under his care, such as those from DLSU, DLSZ and even the RP football team, all of which have benefitted immensely from Smit's unique style of coaching. His method of training has made every team he's helped an intimidating presence, making them both feared and respected by the opposing team. Smit has coached in international meets across the globe, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Malaysia, U.S.A., U.K., Italy, and Spain. He's also acted in numerous other roles, such as Football Project Director, Commissioner, Sports Consultant, Secretary-General, Tournament Director, Trainer and Athletic Director.
