On June 16, 1911, the La Salle Brothers opened the first La Salle school in the Philippines. The location was at the former Perez Samanillo Family Compound on 652 Calle Nozaleda (now Gral. Luna) in Paco, Manila. The school was first attended by 100 students. This house is known for its beautiful ornamental iron gate and fences, now being used in Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.
