BRAFE Golf 18: Golfing for Education Continues the Lasallian Legacy

The 18th BRAFE Golf: Golfing for Education concluded successfully on October 20, 2025, at the Ayala Greenfield Golf & Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna—marking another milestone in its long-standing mission to make Lasallian education accessible to all.

Established in honor of former DLSU President Br. Rafael “BRAFE” S. Donato, FSC, the tournament stands as a lasting tribute to his vision of transforming lives through education. Over the years, BRAFE Golf has grown from a commemorative event into an enduring Lasallian tradition—one recognized as an OLSNOE Distinguished Lasallian Awardee and now celebrating an impressive 18-year legacy.

All proceeds from the tournament go directly to the Foundation for Sharing a Lasallian Education (FSLE), which funds scholarships for deserving students in Lasallian schools nationwide. Since 2006, BRAFE Golf has embodied generosity and service in action, gathering alumni, benefactors, and friends who share the same commitment to uplift the next generation of Filipino learners.

This year’s tournament, played under the Molave Points System, drew spirited participation from golfers motivated by a common purpose: to turn every swing into an opportunity to support transformative education. The day concluded with a warm fellowship and awarding ceremony, highlighted by the inspiring message of Br. Gus Boquer, FSC, who reflected on the enduring Lasallian values of service, faith, and community.

A significant moment of the evening was the formal presentation of a ₱500,000 donation to the Foundation for Sharing a Lasallian Education Scholars—an expression of the community’s unwavering commitment to carry forward Br. Rafael Donato’s legacy.
BRAFE Golf 18 was made possible through the leadership and dedication of its officers and core group:

Mr. Albert Garcia, Founder; Ms. Ting Puzon-Yupangco, BRAFE Golf 18 Chairperson; Mr. Bong Africa; Mr. JR Hernandez; Mr. George Elazegui; Mr. Benjamin Jacinto, BRAFE Core Group Officer; and Prof. Randolph I. Nonato, Spokesperson & DLSAA IPP/IVP.

As it enters its 18th year, BRAFE Golf continues to reaffirm its place as a vital tradition in the Lasallian network—uniting generations of alumni to share, serve, and build a brighter future. With each successful edition, it proves that true Lasallian excellence is not only measured by achievements but by the lives changed through the collective power of the community.
Animo La Salle! Animo Br. Rafe!
